WEEKEND OF LEYLAND P76’S
4th & 5th December
- Weekend of 4th & 5th December Brian Hooper and Tammy arrived on Saturday from Leyland P76 owners club of nsw.
- It was a non stop talking of p76’s for the weekend. The clone station wagon was inspected and discussed in detail, how good the guy had made it, and how many original were made, how many survive, as well as the rest of the fleet, consisting the Model A’s, FJ Holden panel van, and of course the 6cylinder Bold as Brass, Aspin Green Targa Florio and the Oh Fudge V8. We were joined later by Eddie Sams & Leonie in the Dry Red 6cylinder, and Jim & Susan Hugo and Family in the Country Cream V8.
- A barbeque tea was had and they still talked P76’s.
- A photos shoot was held out the front. Michael was in his glory and so were Jim & Eddie to have another p76 owner visit, as the information on p76’s is very scarce around the country.
- Brian took the Oh Fudge for a drive. This vehicle was bought from Tom Abbott and modified many years ago. It really does boogie. Michael then took Brian’s car for a drive.
- Talk was until late into the night. We had a hale storm early in the morning and I thought the car might get damaged, too tired to move it. It’s insured. No damage.
- Sunday Brian and Michael are still talking cars. It is amazing that they can still find something new to talk about on the Leyland P76.
- Mid morning Brian & Tammy leave for home. We take the Oh Fudge for a drive to Wallendbeen and meet up with the Hugo family and their country cream.
- It was a very enjoyable weekend for the Country P76 Club and we thank Brian & Tammy for making the effort to come from Sydney to enjoy the hobby of the preservation of the Leyland P67’s.
