“Warts ‘N All”
Country P76 Club
EDITORIAL
- Welcome to the first newsletter of the Country P76 Club.
- Somehow one husband has conned me into being editor of our magazine called “Warts ‘N All”.
- This name came about from Michael saying when he is buying something “Well we are buying it “Warts and All”.
- We have had a few cars like that over the years.
- The Cootamundra members decided to form a club to drive our P76’s because we are so far removed from any other clubs.
- Our only way of being in touch with other members is through the internet, thanks to Adrian.
- We are members of the NSW Club and WA Club and are also grateful for information received from these clubs.
- The weekend of 4th & 5th December, we will be hosting about twelve cars from the Sydney Club, and invite all close P76 owners to join us at Cootamundra for a fun weekend.
- 2006 we will host the 'P76 National Rally' and can assure all P76 owners of a great time.
- We have a lot to do around Cootamundra and district. We have the War bird’s museum at Temora, liquorish factory at Junee and Rail museum.
- PJ’s jam factory at Young and many more visitors centers that we are sure you will enjoy.
- Michael and I have been rally directors for many years, and know what is needed to make a great rally.
- Last year at our bi-annual wattle time rally we had 174 cars entered.
- That was our last wattle time rally as rally directors because of medical problems, but it is a record we are proud of.
- Because of our first love of the Model A Ford and their rally being held every second even year, it clashes with the P76 Nationals.
- In 2006 for the once only time it is not being held at Easter but later in the year to co-inside with the Bay to Birdwood run in SA, this allows us to be able to do the P76 National.
- We have a very enthusiastic group of members, who are willing to help us make the National one you will all remember.
- Our members are
- Fred and June Holland who has a Bold as Brass superV8
- Eddie Sams has a Dry Red 6cylinder Deluxe
- Craig & Susan Hugo Country Cream V8 Super
- Guy & Agnes Graham Omega Navy V8 Targa Florio
- Brian & Helen Maddaford Bitter Apricot Executive V8
- Ray & Sharon Douglas are looking for a car
- Michael & Gwen Livingstone (Aspin Green Targa Florio V8, Bold as Brass 6 cyl. 4 speed, Oh Fudge V8 4 speed.
- Michael is getting nearly as bad a James Metiplay with another P76 to arrive in the fleet soon. (more Later about that one).
- Our shed consists of
- 1928 A Model Ford Woody
- 1928 A Model Ford racer
- 1928 A Model Ford Tudor
- 1931 A Model Ford Fire Engine (Only one in Australia)

- and the Leyland P76’s above. Not much room for anything else.
- Each month we will feature one of our members so you will get to know the members of our Club.
- Fred & June Holland are our members for this month.
- Hope you will enjoy “Worts ‘N All”
- To our members and fellow P76 owners may you and your families have a very Merry Christmas and a very happy 2005.
- Hope Santa brings you all you want for your P76.
- Gwen Livingstone
