Fuel Tank and equipment


This tank had a problem with the weld not holding the balfolds and forming a hole

The tank bolts up behind the boot and holds 65 litres of fuel.

Fuel senders


The two different types of sender units used in the P76.
You will notice the later models (both six and V8) have two pipes and was used to return fuel from the carbureter . (this over come some of the early problems with vapouration of fuel).



This is a filter found on the bottom of the sender to stop rubbish getting into the mechanical fuel pumps.
You may find that this will disovle with the new fuels



Fuel pumps


This is V8 mechaical fuel pump and is found under the alternator on the left hand side of the engine.
This sometimes is prone to leaking oil from the gasket.
The V8 model has a large lever.


The six E series engine used the a similar unit but with a shorter arm on the pump and ran off the camshaft on the opposite side of the manifold.

No Mechical Pump


A lot of cars now use the electric petrol pump and you can tell this by a plate having been placed over the hole.
