Seeking info on locking nuts for Mag wheels
Question
- Thu, 11 Mar 2004
- Adrian,
- Sorry I didn't send this one to you last night.
- Can you tell me what we can use for locking nuts on our mag wheels, we have the older style ROH DragMags not that it matters.
- What does is the studs so we can get the locking nuts.

- Leyland use standard 1/2 inch thread wheelnuts
- Try your local wheel shop, Autobarn or Supercheap.
- Easily obtained

Information from Russell on where to get new Targa wheel nuts
- Shortcut to: http://www.niceproducts.com.au/images/WheelStud_scr.pdf
- Details of the nuts I was able to purchase for my Targa Mags (i.e. one you photo'd today) are as follows:
- NICE product Part No. T246 1/2" 22mm chrome;
- Ordered through REPCO;
- Cost $12.55 per wheel (I think) i.e for 5 plus some freight - cost about $60.00 all up;
- Washers that come std with the nuts don't fit the recess in the Targa Mags and are also too thin - so I was able to get some custom made from Stainless Steel (not sure what grade?) based on original dimensions and the new nut shank OD.
- I think I actually had them made slightly thicker than the originals (5mm) because the new nut's shank is slightly longer than the original.
- Cheers
- Russell
